It's the late hours of the day, and the party is just getting started in Magaluf. I am sitting outside a bar on the infamous Punta Ballena strip with fellow journalist Ellie Flynn and our undercover security guard.

Two 30-something men approach us and sit at our table. We laugh and chat about our holiday, and the topic of age comes up in conversation. What happened next left me feeling sick to my stomach.

After declaring that I was 15 years old, one of the men shockingly began flirting with me. His friend then went on to call him a "nonce".

He immediately responded, "She's 15, it doesn't count"

Just metres away is our secret camera-operated TV crew, who captured the incident alongside our hidden cameras.

In immediate shock, we began to play along with the conversation, hoping it would eventually come to an end. But things began to take a sinister turn.

"If she's got a full hymen, I'll know", he whispered whilst laughing.

This was my third consecutive night out in Magaluf, filming undercover for the Channel 4 documentary investigating the risk posed by men to young women who party on the strip.

The comment made about my "intact hymen" made me feel sick to my stomach. I felt the instant inability to move and the reality of how 'normal' these conversations are hit me like a ton of bricks.

He initially tried to get away with his statement by laughing and holding his head in his hands. When pressed by our security guard on what he said, the subject was changed to drinks.

Moments later, after he composed himself, he stated, "I want to see if she's got a fully developed hymen or not".

I left the table speechless and frightened, feeling as though I had experienced a seasoned predator.

Over the course of our three nights on the strip, Ellie and I experienced repeated incidents of sexual harassment, inappropriate touching, and apparent attempts to take advantage of us.

Another notable exchange was with a man inside a nightclub. Who grabbed me by the back of my head and pulled me close to ask "if I had ever been kissed before".

Magaluf has the highest number of reported sexual assaults per inhabitant in the whole of Spain.

Since 2020, the local government has made efforts to clean up the region by prohibiting the sale of booze in shops throughout the night as well as increasing police presence.

However, reports have increased and cases are now at their highest, which suggests this issue is grounded within the culture of Magaluf.

If this predatory behaviour continues to go on unpunished and unchecked by friends, then this cycle of predatory behaviour will continue despite our efforts to expose it.

Magaluf Undercover: Parties and Predators is available to watch on Channel 4's Untold YouTube Channel.
